Darn it, I keep getting older. My bones, joints, and arthritis are always fighting me when it comes to sleeping on the ground. I found this company, Tentsile, that makes "tree tents." And as the name implies, you attach your tent off the ground in the trees. I love being outside and this is the best way I have found to tent camp. It's kind of like sleeping in a waterbed, but outside.  Very comfortable. And the best thing, it's off the ground. No critters or water get in. I just wanted to share this with you guys. Here's a couple of pics from last fall. The model tent is "Stingray" and I have a "Trillium" hammock underneath to store my gear.IMG_0283.jpg  IMG_0282.jpg  IMG_0279.jpg

It's a pretty good set up.  I'm impressed with it.

The last time I used the Stingray Tent, I set it up about 8 feet off the ground next to the Jacks Fork River close to Mountain View Missouri.  Around 2 am, I was awoken by a coyote and her pups directly underneath me. That's some of the nastiest snarling I have ever heard. I'm glad I was in the trees!!
