A few years back, one of the guys who worked at Microtech (USAF16, I think), almost had Tony run some MTX2s in platinum carbon fiber. Those would have been pretty hot

My one MTX2...#0289 04/2004....has some blade play when blade is open but not locked ..has some cosmetic on bolsters and pivot screw...but I love the design, not the greatest in-hand feel but strong visual styling and a georgeous stonewash on the blade plus micarta inlay ...I've tried to eliminate the bladeplay but any additional washers, no matter how thin result in the blade seizing up ...something to be said for having a "perfect" example ...grind, centering , lockup, detent, manual and auto action, cosmetics......

Michbon, 1000 plus on old school if mint in box with papers would probably bring some nice examples to the market, with carbon fiber bolsters lucky to find at any price.   As long as your knife is locked solid when open, wouldn't worry about a little blade play closed.

Hope we see some production MTX3s, but not holding my breath.

All I can say About this knife is that it's, absolutely stunning. No words can do it justice nor a picture

I like the look of the new ones , Definitely look a bit more heavy duty . At one time the MTX2 was tops on my list but after getting it the knife never felt right in my hand . However right now money is appropriated to other things for a while . But great pick up Fireaid

Those are the only two HG MTX2 I have ever seen also, may be the only MTX2 customs. ...I believe they -still- reside in Tony's wife Susan's collection, never available to the public..

I really like the all CF specimens, although I've never come across one in the wild.
