Had to re-register here, guess the site got redone since I was last here.  Thought I would share a post from my reddit sub with my collection as it sits now.  I would like to possibly add a Halo IV, and if we are granting wishes I'd love a mini-Halo [smile]
Missing from the photo is my red Halo V that was lost in repair hell at the time of the pic.

Great line up.  You have too many of the CFO's, but luckily I have a spot in my collection for one of them [biggrin]

nothing looks better to me than the old anodizing MT did in Vero Beach....50 different shades of OD green, grey, blue/grey....when you line them up together you can see the subtle differences ...it makes me love these knives all the more and makes each piece special

Yep.

Good ol' Anolaze: http://www.anolaze.com/knives.htm

GZB....the "splash" and multi color anodized models are unique and beautiful (especially) if you add a Damascus blade [smile] but it's the slight difference in color from a 1998 Socom to a 2002 model...one looks more of a classic battleship grey and the other more of a OD green ..the "no BS" serious look of early models sets them apart

And the "no BS serious look of the early models" was in part, due to Anolaze finishing.

You have to remember this was 20 years ago, and anodizing was still being fine tuned.
They did a lot more than the Splash handles.
Also solid colors and one of my favorite blade finishes besides Hand Satin and HP... Anopeen.

+1 for Anolaze.  I miss the variety and surface wear properties of those early finishes.

I like the old HALO's very much.  I have a 11/99 HALO III which is one of my favorite knives.  Wish MT would start making these again.  Nothing new fangled just basic HALO III !

GZB....so Anolaze was responsible for all of MT's anodizing ?...and I've been trying to pin down exactly what the anopeen finish looked like....it's a blade finish correct?....in between a bead-blast and a satin?

Is there really a mini halo? I apologize, I'm a recent MT convert and am still learning.
