My LUDT has a s/n of 00285, a claw logo and was built in 02/06.  The box says LUDT, Satin Serrated, 300300-12.

I noticed that it is only drilled for the clip on one side.

Can you tell me what steel was used and is there anything else of interest regarding this blade?

Thanks!

Clip holes on one side is correct. Not sure about blade steel in 2006, guessing it's probably, Elmax, SV30, CPM3V or M390. I don't have a 2006 for comparison but I will double check.

Thank you!  I really like the knife, but I was curious about the blade steel.  ðŸ˜

I have a 06 ludt with claw logo(talon).
I don't have the box,and blade is not marked what steel it is.

Microtech used whatever steel they could get the best price on in 06 and might or might not be marked correctly.  Steel du jour.  IIRC these are marked D2, S30V was another popular choice in 06.

Thanks, Chief!

I find it strange that with so many steels to choose from they didn't mark their blades??

Oh well, I still like their knives!

The blade steel for this run was S30V

These were one example within a handful of vintage production models that didn’t have the steel listed on the blade
