You know how when a dog gets caught shredding something he shouldn't have? And when confronted he gets a goofy look positively ID'ing him of being guilty. Well I stand corrected. I wrote a post and stated I wasn't impressed by Heretic Knives.
I recently picked up a MT UTX-70 S/E "BEFORE" I purchased a Heretic Manticore- S.  I did a side-by-side comparison checking them both out and the Manticore - S won hands down.  Super cool little knife. And how can this company NOT be impressive when Jr. learned from one of the industries most innovative souls?!

Great! I just added another knife maker to my growing list of constant over-spending purchases...........
Where's the sharp-edge rehab category??

they outsource 75-80% THEN bring them back in to assemble grind fit finish etc
im not SLAMMING him or the Brand, I am a Knife dealer so I want to KNOW what where and how brands are made etc

Where might someone get this mini and what is the approximate cost?  MT has not made anything recently that was in my price range and appeal.

Damn that hurts to say too...

Yeah-don’t get me wrong I can find one. I’d just much prefer to work with a dealer connected to this site or one someone recommended vs. at bladehq or some giant outfit like that.

Mark is correct our components are out sourced. However it doesn’t mean that they are made in China just because he mention outsourcing. Our main components are made by a company in Edinboro, PA. Our springs and stampings are sourced by a few different companies here in the U.S. The Facebook post says exactly this.

Yes we do all our own finish work. Blasting, tumbling, send out for Anodizing, lasering, sharpening, assembly, packaging. We do not “manufacture our own stuff” because the overhead involved is outrageous not to mention finding individuals who can show up to work. We let that be someone else’s problem and stick to the design and quality aspect of manufacturing.

The only parts that I can’t control where they are made, are the parts that are bought off the shelf. IE: McMaster Carr, granger, etc. which may at times come from China, Taiwan, Spain, Mexico etc.

Hope this clarifies for everyone. Feel free to repost where necessary and if any more questions need answered please do not hesitate to shoot me an email.

Thanks
TJ

Knife was purchased from a FL dealer who knows the family well.  It's a prototype Manticore - S.  Gonna try to upload some pics tomorrow time permitting or soon after. I like it.  Box and knife stamped USA. And if some of the innards are from here and there....well aren't we all?  Thanks for chiming in HereticKnives.

And for the record, you can't buy these "in lots of places."  This little specimen of Badassery isn't anywhere to be found on line as of yet. Fit, feel and finish= Awesome!
