Some questions have come up recently regarding appropriate conduct and topics for discussion while visiting Microholics.  In response, I've put together the following guidelines to help us avoid any future misunderstandings on the subject.  Please take a few moments to read this as failure to observe the rules can result in the loss of your posting privileges!

1) Treat others as you would have them treat you.
Being mindful of the feelings and beliefs of others is not only polite - it is required here at Microholics.  That said, it is perfectly acceptable to disagree with another member - as long as you are challenging the viewpoint rather than the person.  Name calling and displays of racial, ethnic, religious, or sexual prejudice are considered forms of personal attack and will not be tolerated.

2) This is a "No Troll Zone".
Don't go out of your way to stir up controversy.  There are many debate oriented websites that encourage folks to vent in a confrontational manner about their favorite pet peeves - please use those outlets for that sort of discussion.  Sharing opinions on relevant news, events, legislation, etc. that are likely to be of interest to the group is fine, but please don't just randomly "press buttons" to see if you can get a rise out of someone.

3) Keep it rated PG.
Given the nature of some of the topics discussed here, Microholics is not exactly what I would call a "family oriented" website - but many of us do have younger family members that are occasionally exposed to our pages.  While mild adult humor based on innuendo is acceptable in the Walkabout Creek Pub forum, foul language and crude jokes / pictures should not be posted anywhere on the site.

Consequences
If you break the rules, you will be warned by myself or one of the moderators.  Repeat offenses will result in the suspension of your posting privileges or permanent removal from the membership roster.

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions or concerns.

Thanks,
Mike
