I would think the flutes would decrease cutting ability. They look cool though.

I like them both!  Not sure what the functional purpose of the fluted one would be, so if I was gonna use it I'd go non-fluted. If it was a collector I wouldn't be afraid of the fluted one..

I like the fluted one because it is different and it was the one that I kept looking at. Cleaning could be an issue tho depending on the steel type.
